Take off equipment
To unequip is to remove equipment that has been equipped—primarily gaming terminology for taking off armor, weapons, or gear from a character: Unequip the sword before entering the temple.
Outside games, the word is rare but occasionally appears when someone reverses a previous equipping: She unequipped the camera from the tripod.
