uncleanliness
Lack of hygiene
Uncleanliness is the state of being dirty or unsanitary.
The word carries a slight formality compared to *dirtiness* or *filthiness*.
It can also suggest moral or spiritual impurity in religious contexts: ritual uncleanliness, the uncleanliness of sin.
