tump

Knock something down

Tump is a dialectal verb, used chiefly in the American South and Midland regions, meaning to tip over or overturn something.

It almost always appears with the particle over: The canoe tumped over in the rapids; Don't tump that bucket over.

The word can be used transitively or intransitively—you can tump something over, or it can tump over on its own.

As a noun, tump refers to a small mound or hillock, though this sense is rare outside British dialects.
