travelators
Horizontal airport escalators
Travelators are moving walkways—flat conveyor belts that transport people horizontally or on gentle inclines, typically found in airports and large transit stations.
The term blends "travel" with "escalator," though unlike escalators, travelators remain level.
More common in British English; Americans usually say "moving walkway" or "moving sidewalk."
