Touch-down is a hyphenated variant of touchdown, the moment when an aircraft or spacecraft makes contact with the ground: The pilot executed a smooth touch-down despite the crosswinds.
In American football, touchdown (usually unhyphenated) is a six-point score achieved by carrying or catching the ball in the opponent's end zone.
