totalizer
Machine that tallies
A totalizer is a device that calculates and displays running totals.
The term appears most often in horse racing, where the totalizer (or tote board) shows betting pools and odds in real time.
More broadly, any mechanism that aggregates quantities—a gas pump's meter, an odometer—functions as a totalizer.
Also spelled totalisator.
