tornado alley
Funnel cloud region
Tornado alley is a loosely defined region of the central United States where tornadoes occur most frequently, typically including parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
The term describes geography, not precise boundaries: We grew up in tornado alley, so storm cellars were standard.
Sometimes used figuratively for any area prone to repeated disruption.
