toothbrush mustache
Tiny centered bristle-patch
A toothbrush mustache is a small, thick mustache trimmed to about the width of the nose, resembling the bristle head of a toothbrush.
Once worn by Charlie Chaplin and others, it became so associated with Adolf Hitler that it virtually disappeared from fashion after World War II.
The style remains culturally radioactive: He shaved off the toothbrush mustache when someone pointed out the resemblance.
