third term
Beyond two administrations
A third term is a third consecutive period in office, especially for a president or other executive.
In the United States, presidents were traditionally limited to two terms by custom until Franklin Roosevelt won four; the Twenty-Second Amendment now prohibits more than two.
The phrase often appears in debates about term limits: He's seeking a third term as governor.
