thermal fuse
Temperature-triggered disconnect
A thermal fuse is a safety device that permanently breaks an electrical circuit when it detects excessive heat.
Unlike regular fuses that respond to current overload, thermal fuses trigger at a specific temperature, protecting appliances like dryers, coffee makers, and hair dryers from overheating and fire.
Once tripped, a thermal fuse must be replaced—it cannot be reset.
