tap-ins

Short finishing putts

Tap-ins are goals in soccer scored from very close range, requiring minimal skill—just tapping the ball into an open or nearly open net: He's scored twelve goals this season, but most of them were tap-ins.

The term often carries a dismissive tone, suggesting the goal was easy or that the scorer benefited from a teammate's harder work.

Extended to other contexts, a tap-in is anything requiring little effort: That exam was a tap-in.
