Small armored vehicle
A tankette is a small, lightly armored military vehicle, typically with one or two crew members and armed with machine guns rather than cannons.
Popular between the World Wars, tankettes were designed for reconnaissance and infantry support but proved too vulnerable in actual combat: The Italian tankettes were no match for heavier Allied armor.
