table olives

Olives for snacking

Table olives are olives cultivated and processed for eating whole, as opposed to those grown for pressing into oil.

They're typically cured in brine, salt, lye, or water to remove bitterness, then served as appetizers, in salads, or alongside meals: a bowl of table olives with cocktails, kalamata and castelvetrano are popular table olive varieties.
