suspect lineup
Witness viewing arrangement
A suspect lineup is a police procedure in which eyewitnesses view a group of people—typically one suspect among several similar-looking individuals—to identify who committed a crime.
The lineup may be conducted in person or through photographs.
The witness picked him out of a suspect lineup.
Also called simply a lineup or, in British usage, an identity parade.
