A support bubble was a legal arrangement during COVID-19 lockdowns allowing a household living alone to form an exclusive social unit with one other household.
The concept permitted physical contact and indoor visits between the linked households while broader restrictions remained in force: We formed a support bubble with my elderly mother so she wouldn't be completely isolated.
