suicide squeeze
Third-base gamble play
A suicide squeeze is a baseball play where a runner on third base breaks for home as the pitcher begins throwing, while the batter attempts to bunt.
The runner commits fully before knowing if the bunt succeeds—hence "suicide." If the batter fails to make contact, the runner is almost certainly out.
They called a suicide squeeze with two outs in the ninth.
