subcontractors
Delegated project workers
Subcontractors are individuals or companies hired by a primary contractor to perform specific portions of a larger job.
A general contractor building a house might hire subcontractors for electrical, plumbing, and roofing work.
The arrangement distances the client from the workers actually doing the job: The company uses subcontractors for all its deliveries.
