Student evaluation is the assessment of a student's academic performance, or the assessment of a teacher's effectiveness by students.
The first sense appears in phrases like student evaluation forms for grading.
The second, more common in higher education, refers to end-of-term feedback: The professor's student evaluations were mostly positive.
Context usually clarifies which direction the evaluating goes.
