strumpets

Ladies of ill-repute

Strumpets is the plural of strumpet, an old-fashioned or literary word for a promiscuous woman or prostitute.

The term appears in Shakespeare and the King James Bible but sounds archaic today: The preacher railed against strumpets and sinners.

When used now, it's often deliberately theatrical or humorous.
