stiffing
Refusing to tip
Stiffing is the act of failing to pay or tip someone as expected.
A customer stiffs a server by leaving no tip; a contractor gets stiffed when a client refuses to pay.
The word carries a sense of deliberate cheating rather than mere inability to pay: He's notorious for stiffing his workers.
