state broadcaster
Public media outlet
A state broadcaster is a television or radio network owned and operated by a national government.
The BBC, CBC, and NHK are state broadcasters.
The term often implies editorial independence from government control, distinguishing such organizations from state-run propaganda outlets: The state broadcaster faced criticism for its coverage of the protests.
