spun silk
Short-fiber silk textile
Spun silk is yarn made from short, broken, or waste silk fibers that are twisted together rather than reeled as continuous filaments.
It produces a softer, less lustrous fabric than reeled silk, at lower cost: The blouse was spun silk, not the fine stuff.
The term also appears as an adjective: spun-silk thread.
