spoonies

Fatigue community members

Spoonies is informal for people with chronic illness or disability who identify with spoon theory—a metaphor where daily energy is measured in "spoons," with each activity depleting a limited supply.

The term emerged from online chronic illness communities and carries solidarity rather than stigma: Fellow spoonies understand why I had to cancel plans.
