spirit stick
Cheerleader's lucky baton
A spirit stick is a decorated baton or wand used at cheerleading camps and pep rallies, awarded to the squad or group showing the most enthusiasm.
Possessing the spirit stick confers honor and supposedly good luck; dropping it brings bad luck.
The term gained wider recognition from the cheerleading movie *Bring It On*: Don't ever drop the spirit stick!
