spin casting
Fixed-spool angling method
Spin casting is a fishing technique using a spinning reel mounted below the rod, with line that uncoils freely during the cast.
The method allows longer, more accurate casts than conventional reels and is popular with beginners and experienced anglers alike: I learned spin casting on my grandfather's old rod.
Separately, spin casting is a manufacturing process where molten material is poured into a rotating mold, using centrifugal force to distribute it evenly—used for jewelry, toys, and metal parts.
