spazz out

Freak out suddenly

To spazz out is to lose control emotionally or physically—panicking, freaking out, or flailing around: Don't spazz out, it's just a spider.

The term derives from spastic, originally describing muscle spasms, which makes it offensive to some, particularly in British English where the connection to disability remains stronger.

In American usage, it's casual slang for overreacting.
