solid wire
Single-strand electrical cable
Solid wire is electrical wire made from a single continuous strand of metal, as opposed to stranded wire, which bundles many thin filaments together.
Solid wire is stiffer and holds its shape when bent, making it preferred for permanent installations like house wiring.
It's cheaper and easier to terminate but breaks more readily under repeated flexing.
