social games
Multiplayer party activities
Social games are games designed primarily around interaction between players rather than solitary challenge.
The term covers party games, multiplayer video games, and games played on social media platforms.
What distinguishes social games is that the social element—cooperation, competition, conversation—is central to the experience: We played social games at the reunion to break the ice.
The category also includes casual online games that integrate with social networks, encouraging players to invite friends and share progress.
