smiley faces
Cheerful circular expressions
Smiley faces are simple depictions of a smiling human face, typically a yellow circle with two dots for eyes and a curved line for a mouth.
The iconic design became a symbol of cheerfulness and positivity in the 1960s and 70s.
In digital communication, smiley faces evolved into emoticons :) and later emoji 😊, used to convey tone or soften messages: She added a smiley face so he'd know she was joking.
