Flattering reflective surface
A skinny mirror is a mirror that makes the viewer appear thinner than they actually are, whether by design or optical distortion.
Clothing stores are sometimes accused of installing them to flatter customers into buying: That dress looked great in the store—they must have skinny mirrors.
The term also applies to any mirror that happens to produce this effect.
