silver leaf
Decorative metal sheets
Silver leaf is extremely thin sheets of silver, hammered or rolled until nearly translucent, used for gilding and decorative work on frames, furniture, or architectural details.
The technique resembles gold leaf but produces a cooler, more reflective finish.
Silver leaf also names a plant disease caused by fungus, which gives tree leaves a silvery sheen as tissue separates beneath the surface.
