shamanic journey
Trance-induced soul travel
A shamanic journey is a trance state in which a practitioner enters an altered consciousness to interact with spirits, seek guidance, or retrieve healing power.
Typically induced through drumming, chanting, or plant medicines, the journeyer travels mentally through spirit realms while remaining physically present: She went on a shamanic journey to find her power animal.
The practice appears across indigenous traditions worldwide and has been adopted in contemporary spiritual movements.
