service staff
Workers who serve
Service staff are the employees who directly attend to customers in hospitality, retail, or event settings—waiters, bartenders, housekeepers, receptionists, and the like.
The term distinguishes those in customer-facing roles from kitchen workers, managers, or back-office personnel: The service staff were attentive throughout our meal.
In British English, staff takes a plural verb; in American English, either works.
