serrated teeth
Zigzag cutting edges
Serrated teeth have edges with a row of small, pointed projections like a saw blade.
The term applies to actual teeth—sharks have serrated teeth for tearing flesh—and to knife blades designed for cutting bread or tomatoes without crushing.
A serrated knife works better on crusty loaves.
