senior skip day
Class-sanctioned absence
Senior skip day is an unofficial tradition, usually in American high schools, when graduating seniors collectively skip classes near the end of the school year.
The day is chosen informally among students rather than sanctioned by the school: Half the senior class was absent for senior skip day.
Also called senior ditch day.
