semantic equivalence
Same sense, different words
Semantic equivalence is the relationship between expressions that mean the same thing despite different wording or structure.
Active and passive sentences can be semantically equivalent: "The dog bit the man" equals "The man was bitten by the dog." The concept matters in logic, linguistics, translation, and programming, where different formulations must preserve meaning.
