seed libraries
Community germplasm exchanges
Seed libraries are community collections where people can borrow seeds for planting and return seeds from their harvest.
They operate like book lending libraries but for gardening: The seed library at our public library has heirloom tomato varieties.
Most are housed in public libraries, community centers, or garden clubs, promoting biodiversity and local food growing.
