scientific writing
Academic journal language
Scientific writing is prose that reports research findings, methods, or theories to specialist audiences.
It prizes clarity, precision, and objectivity over style—passive voice, technical terminology, and hedged claims (the data suggest, it appears that) are conventions of the form.
The goal is replicability: another researcher should be able to follow what was done.
Her scientific writing improved after peer review feedback.
