scale factor
Proportional enlargement number
A scale factor is the ratio by which all dimensions of something are multiplied when enlarging or reducing it.
In geometry, a scale factor of 2 doubles every length; a scale factor of 0.5 halves them.
The concept applies to maps, architectural models, and mathematical transformations: The blueprint uses a scale factor of 1:100.
