salt water rinse
Brine mouth wash
A salt water rinse is a simple oral hygiene remedy made by dissolving salt in warm water and swishing it around the mouth.
Dentists recommend it after extractions or for sore throats and minor mouth irritations: Do a salt water rinse three times a day until the swelling goes down.
The salt draws out fluid and has mild antiseptic properties.
