roll-on roll-off
Drive-on ship design
Roll-on roll-off describes a ship or ferry designed so vehicles can drive directly on and off through doors in the hull, rather than being loaded by crane: roll-on roll-off cargo ferries.
Often abbreviated RoRo or ro-ro.
The design speeds loading and unloading but can compromise stability if water enters the vehicle deck.
