roaming fees
Foreign network costs
Roaming fees are charges applied when a mobile phone connects to networks outside its home service area, typically while traveling internationally.
Carriers historically charged premium rates for calls, texts, and data used abroad: I turned off data roaming to avoid the fees.
Many plans now include roaming, and regulations in some regions have eliminated the practice.
