riding down
Moving lower aboard
Riding down means pursuing and overtaking someone on horseback, typically to attack or trample them: The cavalry rode down the fleeing infantry.
It can also mean wearing something out through heavy use, or—in nautical contexts—when a ship's anchor chain runs over and damages the cable of another vessel.
