revest
Return to possessor
Revest means to vest again—to restore ownership, authority, or rights to someone who previously held them.
In legal contexts, property or powers that were transferred may revest in the original holder: The title revested in the grantor when the condition was broken.
The word also has an archaic sense of putting on vestments or clothing again.
