reunion scene
Characters meet again
A reunion scene is a moment in a story when characters who have been separated finally come back together.
These scenes are emotional high points—a soldier returning home, estranged family members reconciling, lovers finding each other after years apart.
The term is used in screenwriting and fiction craft: The reunion scene in the third act felt earned.
Airport reunion scenes have become their own subgenre of viral video.
