reinfiltrating

Penetrating again covertly

Reinfiltrating means infiltrating again—entering or penetrating something covertly a second time.

The term applies to military operations where forces slip back into enemy territory, or to water seeping again into soil: Groundwater is reinfiltrating the aquifer after the drought.

It can also describe spies or agents returning to organizations they had previously penetrated.
