regretting
Feeling sorry afterward
Regretting is feeling sorrow or disappointment about something that has happened or been done, especially something you wish you could change: I'm already regretting that second slice of cake.
The word often appears in polite formulas: We are regretting to inform you that your application was unsuccessful.
Someone regretting a decision is experiencing the emotional aftermath of a choice they now see as wrong.
