refashion

Give new form

Refashion means to make something again in a different form or style.

The word most often applies to clothing—taking an old garment and altering it into something new—but extends to any creative reworking: She refashioned her grandmother's wedding dress into a cocktail gown.

More abstractly, you can refashion an argument, a reputation, or an identity, reshaping it to better suit current needs or circumstances.
