redevelop
Transform urban space
Redevelop means to develop something again or in a new way, typically applied to land, buildings, or urban areas.
When a neighborhood is redeveloped, existing structures are demolished or renovated and replaced with new construction, often changing the character of the area.
The city plans to redevelop the abandoned waterfront into mixed-use housing.
The term can also apply to ideas or plans that are reworked after an initial attempt proves inadequate.
