redrum
Inverted homicide word
Redrum is "murder" spelled backward, made famous by the 1977 Stephen King novel *The Shining* and its 1980 film adaptation, where a child repeatedly chants the word.
It appears in horror contexts as an ominous reference: The graffiti read REDRUM in dripping red letters.
Outside horror, it's occasionally used for wordplay or as a name for products and businesses trading on the sinister association.
